PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Epoxy Coal Tar Pitch Anti-corrosive Paint is a two component anti-rust primer based on epoxy resin and coal pitch. It has the advantage of strong water and chemical resistance. In addition, this paint is also strongly adhesive, impact and wear resistant.

Typical Uses:

This product is mainly used to protect underwater steel structure facilities in long-term or frequent immersion state and buried concrete structure. It can also be applied in crude oil tank, sewage treatment plant and on inner wall of storage tanks. Avoiding adopting multiple coating methods is recommended to obtain the best luster and appearance.

Application Guide

● Mixing:

Use the power mixer to mix the main paint evenly, and then as you stir it, you add the hardener until you get to mix well. Generally, if the temperature is below 10℃, it needs 30 min induction time; If the temperature is over 10℃, it needs 15 min induction time.

● Mixing Ratio:

Part A: Part B=22:22/ 20:4(by weight)

● Thinner:

Epoxy paint thinner

● Airless Spray:

Nozzle tip: 0.021~0.025 inches.

Spray pressure: 15~18 MPa.

Thinner ratio: 0~15% (by weight of paint).

SURFACE TREATMENT

All surface to be coated shall be clean and dry. The surface shall be evaluated and treated according to ISO8504 standard.
For bare steel, it shall be sandblasted to reach Sa2.5(iso8501-1:2007) standard. Depending on the environment of the non-immersed part, grinding with power tools is acceptable but shall at least reach St2(iso8501-1:2007) standard.
For shop primed steel, the shop primer shall be clean, dry and approved.
For surface painted coatings, this product can apply only to clean, dry and good compatible primer.

APPLICATION

Application conditions: Substrate temperature shall be at 3℃ higher than dew point, relative humidity less than 85%. Measurement of temperature and humidity should be close to substrate.

SAFETY AND HEALTH

Please refer to MSDS before using this product. If you do not fully understand the restrictions, or cannot follow MSDS directions strictly, do not use this product. This volatile product is flammable. Keep this product away from flame or fire. Smoking is strictly prohibited in working area. Keep working area ventilated during application to make sure solvent vapor content is low in the air. PPE is necessary to avoid this product contacting with eyes or skin. More detailed safety tips are based on practical situation.

Please handle used paint barrel correctly to avoid any pollution.

Storage:

Store this product in shady, dry, and ventilated warehouse. Under room temperature, its shelf life is 12 months. If exceeding shelf life, the products shall be tested before using.
